Chemical Skin Peels

Chemical Skin PeelsChemical Peels are a solution applied to the skin to remove the outer, damaged layer of skin, and to stimulate cell rejuvenation and collagen production. This allows a new, healthier layer of skin to develop underneath, giving a fresh and youthful appearance.

Types of Chemical Peels

There are 2 types of peels which we use at AboutSkin Clinic:

  • Glycolic Skin Peels
  • TCA Skin Peels

Glycolic skin peels are a superficial skin peel, they penetrate beneath the skin surface to exfoliate the outer layers, and stimulate cell growth. They are used for skin rejuvenation, to give a fresh and youthful appearance. They are the mildest of the skin peels we provide.

TCA skin peels work on the deeper layers of the skin. They are stronger than glycolic skin peels and are intended for treatment of sun damage, scarring, hyperpigmentation and more damaged skin.

What does the procedure involve?

First you will attend one of your free consultations where we will assess your skin and discuss a personalised treatment plan.

TCA peels require at least 4 weeks of skin prep with recommended products.

What problems do peels treat?

  • Sun Damage
  • Acne scarring
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Tired looking skin

The actual procedure takes around 15 minutes, where the chemical is applied to the treatment areas for a set amount of time. You will need to apply SPF50 suncream twice a day for 4 weeks after the procedure.
